Group Walks

Where every Walk is an adventure!

Not Just a Walk – An Adventure!

At Telford Pet Services, we believe that group walks are an opportunity for dogs to enjoy the company of their canine friends while exploring exciting environments. Dogs are naturally sociable, and our carefully managed group adventures allow them to run, sniff, explore, and play in the safety of a small group of up to four dogs.

Each group is thoughtfully composed based on personality and temperament, ensuring a harmonious and enjoyable experience for every dog. Before joining a group, each dog is individually assessed and introduced at their own pace to ensure compatibility and confidence.

Stimulating and Safe Environments

We focus on providing enriching experiences by visiting open spaces such as fields, woodlands, and streams where your dog can engage all their senses. We play scent and enrichment games like “find it” to provide mental stimulation while encouraging natural behaviours. Rather than walking through busy streets, we prioritise tranquil areas where dogs can explore safely and confidently, away from distractions and crowds.

Comfort and Safety on Every Walk

You can trust that your pets are in safe hands. Julie holds a DEFRA animal transportation license. And your dog will travel securely in an individual secure crate in our vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety during transport. Our team is fully DBS-checked, insured, and trained in pet first aid, offering you complete peace of mind.

On walks, we exclusively use T-Touch harnesses, Perfect-fit harnesses, and Kumfi-fit harnesses, which are designed to maintain your dog’s physical well-being and balance without causing strain or discomfort. Each harness is fitted with a Telford Pet Services tag, which includes our contact details, providing extra peace of mind.

Ethical Training and Positive Reinforcement

Our walks follow ethical, force-free, and non-aversive training principles. We use reward-based methods, such as treats and praise, to encourage positive behaviours, while unwanted behaviours are redirected or ignored. This ensures every dog feels safe, happy, and supported during their time with us.

Professional Standards and Expertise

Julie holds a level three diploma in Dog Care, Behaviour and Welfare. And as members of the Professional Dog Walkers Association (PDWA), we adhere to the highest standards of care, professionalism, and ethics. This gives you peace of mind, knowing that your dog is in the hands of trained professionals.

Our services also align with guidelines provided by Certificated Clinical Animal Behaviourists (CCABs), who are professionals trained in creating behaviour change programmes using kind, ethical, and scientifically validated methods. While we are not CCABs ourselves, we are committed to following these principles to safeguard the welfare of the animals in our care.

Flexible Locations and Scheduling

Julie runs two group adventures per day:

  • Morning group: Pick-ups in Donnington, Muxton, and St Georges.
  • Afternoon group: Pick-ups in Trench, Oakengates, and Stirchley.
Each walk lasts approximately an hour, focusing on exploration, socialisation, and fun in quiet, natural environments.
