Julie - Owner of Telford Pet Services.
Hi, I am Julie, I am the owner of Telford Pet Services. We provide solo and group walks, pet sitting, plus I run the Woof n Ready Agility Club service and the Pet Bereavement Service.
I started working with Telford Pet Services in 2017 and took over the company in 2022. My passions have always been grounded in nature, the outdoors, health and wellbeing and of course animals. I love to spend my spare time with my dogs hiking, camping and cold-water swimming. I am also a trained reiki healer and yoga enthusiast. I have been the proud companion of many collies; Sam, Lizzi, Clio, Logan, Ziggy, Fizzy, and Staffie Charlie; each with their own unique character and now the companion of young boy Helig (in photo).
I love keeping my collies active with agility training. This is a professional hobby that I have taken part in for many years. Ziggy was my main agility dog who got to grade 3 before she retired. I am now training newbie Helig.
I currently compete with one of my customers dogs, a cockerpoo called Marley (see below). Other customers dogs I’ve enjoyed training for agility are Monty, until he moved house..
I am also an animal’s rights activist, as I am passionate about the welfare of all animals. I had been a volunteer dog walker for Hilbrae Stray Dog Kennels for over fifteen years. I previously worked briefly as an Assistant Manager at Dogs Trust, then became a supervisor at Hilbrae Stray dog kennels. It was physically hard work but oh so rewarding. I have adopted many of my dogs from rescue homes such as Hilbrae.
However, my career started off in a different field. I have a BSc (hons) in Psychology and a BA in Social Work and my early career led me to managing services in Health and Social Care for people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and autism. Whilst working in Health and Social Care I used Telford Pet Services to walk my dogs, whilst I was at work. I so admired this company and felt a longing to be able to do something similar full time myself. Working with animals in the outdoors all day seemed like the dream job to me. And so, when redundancy was put on the table as an option for my job in Health and Social Care, I jumped at the chance to move sectors.
Whilst I did adore working with all my clients in Mental Health, Autism and Learning disability services I knew my true heart lay with working with animals, especially dogs.
My experience of working in Health and Social Care has assisted me in making a success of this company. As it has enabled me to further expand my qualifications in animal behaviour and train in pet bereavement, bringing new valuable services to the company. And of course, my experience enables me to form great working relationships with my clientele and their pets, offering behavioural training and compassionate care.
As Telford Pet Services owner. It is both a pleasure and a joy to be working with dogs and other animals. I provide the small group adventure walks in Telford. I love ensuring that your dogs have had fun on their walks and have been able to spend their time exercising all their natural behaviours and instinct by sniffing, exploring, chasing and playing. I make no apologies for mucky paws as this is a definite indicator of fun! I equally enjoy my cat visits and the agility training for beginners.

Wendy has been an integral part of the Telford Pet Services team for over five years, bringing her passion for animals, dedication, and vibrant personality to every role she takes on. Based in Wellington, Wendy offers personalised pet care tailored to your furry (or feathery!) family members’ needs.

Wendy’s Background and Interests
Before joining Telford Pet Services, Wendy worked in various administrative roles at Telford College (TCAT). Seeking a more fulfilling career aligned with her love of animals, Wendy joined our team following a glowing recommendation from a friend. Since then, she has achieved her Pet First Aid Certificate and earned a distinction in a Canine Communication Diploma, reflecting her commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
Wendy’s personal life is as lively as her professional one. She’s a proud member of a punk rock band, where she plays keyboard and creates sound effects, adding her unique flair to the music scene. When she’s not rocking out, Wendy loves:
- Taking early morning walks up the Wrekin.
- Travelling in her campervan with her partner to music festivals and art galleries.
- Cooking delicious vegan meals.
She’s a devoted animal carer who has cared for cats, dogs, and guinea pigs over the years. Currently, she shares her home with a big black-and-white cat named Bob Snitz, who has claimed Wendy as his own.

Grey is a valued member of the Telford Pet Services team, known for their reliability, kindness, and genuine love for animals. Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies at university, Grey combines their academic focus on sustainability and nature with a hands-on passion for animal care.

Grey’s journey began during their gap year, when they joined the team as a dog walker and pet sitter. Initially caring for our own dogs, Grey quickly proved to be a tower of strength and compassion, becoming an indispensable part of our team. One moment that truly highlights Grey’s incredible nature was their support during Ziggy’s vestibular episode. Their calm, nurturing approach brought comfort not only to Ziggy but also to me. This experience is a testament to the kindness and empathy Grey brings to every pet they care for.
