Telford Pet Services was originally established in 2011 as Telford Dog Walking Co. by Keely Needham. One of the longest-standing pet care providers in the area, it initially focused on solo and small group dog walks in Newport and Telford. Following a consultancy phone call and subsequent partnership between Keely and Julie Mills, the business expanded to include holiday pet sitting and visits for cats and other animals, leading to a name change to Telford Pet Services to better reflect its growing scope.

 

Julie joined the team in 2017, bringing her wealth of experience and passion for animal welfare. When Keely left in 2022 to pursue a career as a Clinical Behaviourist, Julie took over as the proud owner of the company. The team has since grown to include Wendy, an experienced pet owner and the main dog walker and pet sitter for Wellington, and Grey, a university student who provides pet sitting and walking services during their breaks to give extra support over the holiday periods.

 

Julie’s ownership has seen the introduction of new specialist services, including agility training and companion bereavement services. The business also continues to provide student placements for Harper Adams University students studying Animal Behaviour and Welfare, demonstrating a commitment to fostering the next generation of animal care professionals.

 

Telford Pet Services actively supports local animal charities, including Hilbrae Stray Dog Kennels, where Julie has been a volunteer dog walker for over 15 years. The team is also involved in community initiatives aimed at promoting animal welfare and education.

 

In addition, the business is proud to uphold high professional standards as members of the Professional Dog Walkers Association. The team adheres to industry best practices, ensuring safety, kindness, and enrichment for all pets in their care.
