Charities We Support and How You Can Help

At Telford Pet Services, our commitment to animal welfare goes beyond our daily work with pets. As a team of animal lovers and vegans, supporting organisations that align with our values is a core part of who we are. Here are the incredible charities we support and how you can join us in making a difference.

Footprints Animal Sanctuary

Located in Crewe, Footprints Animal Sanctuary provides a safe home and rehoming hub for farmed animals rescued from cruelty and neglect. This sanctuary is a haven for sheep, goats, pigs, turkeys, cows, and other animals.

What We Do:
  • We attend their open days in the summer, spending time with the animals and enjoying delicious vegan BBQs and cakes. These days are a highlight of our year!
  • We support their work by purchasing their calendars, merchandise, and adopting animals.

How You Can Help:
  • Adopt an animal or sponsor a resident at Footprints.
  • Purchase their merchandise to support their work.
  • Visit their open days for a fun, family-friendly day out.

Hilbrae Stray Dog Kennels

Located in Cold Hatton, Hilbrae Stray Dog Kennels rescues and rehomes stray dogs. This organisation holds a special place in our hearts—Julie’s Blue Merle collies, Logan and Ziggy, were rescued by Hilbrae.

What We Do:

  • Julie volunteered as a Saturday dog walker for many years and worked at Hilbrae before joining Telford Pet Services.
  • We make regular donations of dog food, beds, treats, and other supplies.
  • Julie’s mum knits and crochets blankets for the dogs at Hilbrae.

How You Can Help:
  • Donate dog food, beds, treats, or other items.
  • Contribute items for Hilbrae’s charity shops—let us know if you’re having a clear-out, and we’ll deliver them for you.
  • Support their adoption programmes by considering a rescue dog.

Cuan Wildlife Rescue

Cuan Wildlife Rescue is our local wildlife hospital, dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of sick, injured, and orphaned wild animals. We are proud to support their vital work through fundraising and community events.

What We Do:
  • We organise and run their annual dog show, raising around £1000 each year. The next event will be our fifth year in succession!
  • We offer fun categories like Handsome Boy, Pretty Girl, Musical Sit, and Best Sausage Catcher.
  • We introduced a Hoopers and Agility demonstration in 2022, allowing attendees to “Have-a-Go” with their dogs.

How You Can Help:
  • Attend the Cuan Wildlife Rescue open day and enjoy the fun dog show and activities.
  • Volunteer as a judge for the dog show—we’re always looking for morning and afternoon judges.
  • Sponsor a class for £20 and six toys as prizes. Sponsors get mentioned on Facebook posts, shoutouts during the event, and can include business cards or leaflets in the winners’ goodie bags.
  • Visit the craft and charity stalls, enjoy delicious cakes, and take a guided tour of the wildlife hospital (available once a year).
