2. How do I get there?

It is best to type Newport Dog Park into Google maps and it will take you to the entrance. If you just use the postcode it will only take you to the general area.

3. Where should I park?

Please do not park on Newport Dog Park car park. Please drive through the gate marked ‘private property’. Go along that drive, all the way to the bottom. There will be a cabin on your left and the house will be on the right. Our car park is at the end.

Please be mindful when arriving that there may be other people and dogs returning to their cars.

4. Is the field fully secure?

Yes, there is sheep fencing, wooden fencing and hedging all the way around. The agility section is fenced off with netting.

5. Is there anywhere to exercise our dogs before or after training?

No, sorry. All dogs must remain on leads at all times whilst at the training venue, unless it is their turn to train. This includes the car parking area and the agility field and any other farmers field in the vicinity.

6. What type of training do you use?

Only positive reward based training will be supported and taught here. No punitive punishment or harsh handling to be carried out. Please ensure your dog has a flat collar. No slip leads/collars, half-slip collars or ‘halties’ to be worn while training. Please also use a training lead NOT an extendable. Your dog’s welfare will be paramount.

7. What do I need to bring?

Please bring lots of small soft training treats to reward your dog e.g. cheese (cubed, not grated), a (non-squeaky) toy or tuggy toy, and a bowl of water if it is a hot day. Please bring poo bags too as it is the responsibility of owner or handler to pick up poop and take their waste home.

8. My dog has been poorly. Can I still bring them?

If your dog as suffered with sickness or diarrhoea within 48 hours prior to training, has lameness, or is showing signs of kennel cough Please Do Not Attend Training. If your dog has recently been spayed or neutered people ask your vet to verify that they can return to training.

  • Please do not allow your dog to wee on the equipment. If accidents occur please let me know so I can disinfectant

“Our fortnightly agility lesson is always the highlight of our weeks! We have a reactive GSD, Brie, and wanted something to enhance our bond and most importantly have fun! Julie is very understanding of Brie’s quirks and makes sure both she and us are comfortable attending lessons, which is very much appreciated. Julie’s training style is always fun and centred around Brie and her way of learning. We have been amazed at how far we have come, both dog and handler! The skills we have learnt at agility have been beneficial in our day to day with Brie. We have much better communication and love to practice what we learn out and about. “
